Kate shared her response regarding ‘why people are happier spending money on others than ourselves’ and she highlighted the importance of seeing the facial feedback of the other person making us happier too.
In psychology research methods, there’s a concept called confound variable. Other variables that contribute to the results other than the variables of interest (giving the money vs spending the money on yourself on happiness). Here the research may not have accounted for the fact that perhaps the act of simply seeing someone else happy may have caused the reported happiness.
